Holy Smokes!

Has it really been a week since my last post? Things have been hopin’ but I didn’t realize how much.

In the last week (in no particular order)…

- At work, the bbq season wrapped up, yippee ‘til next year. 2,000 plates filled. Our last go was as close to ‘True Authentic Mexican’ as it could be. I needed an interrupter 87% of the planning (and purchasing) process. A bit challenging at times. Wouldn’t have traded my experience for the world! Even the Mexican grocery shopping field trip was a riot!

- I get a phone call at 7:45pm on a Wednesday night. Jack is at Pier One. He’s found a dish/place setting we saw a few weeks ago and wants to know if it’s okay to buy them. Of course I say yes all giddy and in love. Two hours later he came home with place settings for twelve.

- I received a call to design, create and craft sixty plus surprise birthday invitations. My only instructions, “As over the over extravagant as possible!”. Out of my samples shown tonight, we have a winner! Pictures I’m sure will appear here soon.

- I’m not a fan of the spooky Halloween. The hubby is. As a compromise he announced that he bought a adult size gorilla costume. Continues to explain, ‘Instead of spooky, we are transforming our front porch/yard into a jungle!’, and he will be the gorilla to greet the lil’ ones. He followed it all with…“Do we have any tiki torches?”

- We packed up the last loads of my Dad’s garage this weekend. And his house was listed today. Bitter sweet. Thanks mama for all the hard work you've put in.

- Today, while waiting for my car at the valet at the Downtown Seattle Sheraton after tasting for an upcoming event, the parking garage Operation Manager approaches me and says..'Mrs. Meyenberg, I regret to inform you that there was an accident involving your vehicle, but rest assured you will be taken care of”. Long story short my Thule rack was peeled off the hood of my car. Ouchy, ouch! Auto body repair here I come.

It’s been busy, busy and I’m afraid it just the beginning! :)
